Description: Earthworks
imaged and located 8- and 12-inch oil pipelines at approximately
50ft depth in trenches
in Pleistocene sediments of South Newark Bay and Arthur Kill.
The deepening project required relocation across both the Newark
Bay and Arthur Kill. Using sub-bottom profiling and reflection
seismic, Earthworks discovered continuous troughs to nearly 60ft in
the top-of-rock across both South Newark Bay and Arthur Kill.
