Description: An oil barge
exploded at Port Mobil in February. 2003, closing the terminal.
Within a week, Earthworks located and characterized over 50
targets using side-scan sonar and multibeam bathymetry. A focused
recovery accomplished within 3 weeks cleared Port Mobil for
limited operation. The clearance was based on Earthworks sonar
surveys. By June, the recovery was complete, and Earthworks
acceptance surveys helped clear the port for full operation.
